Bob was born on August 11, 1932 in Ponca, Nebraska to Clinton and Irene Doan. He graduated from Ponca High School in 1950.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952-1963 as a Tech Sergeant. He was stationed at Requa Air Base in Klamath, California for the majority of his service.
He and his wife, Audrey Doan, were respected business owners in Crescent City, CA. They owned and operated Del Norte Ice for 24 years, as well as a thriving storage facility.
Bob was an avid golfer. He also loved to refinish furniture. He and Audrey loved to travel and spent much of their time in Canada, Florida and Palm Springs. He enjoyed seeing his grandchildren grow and participate in sports and would even attend high school games that didn't involve his family. He donated his time driving cancer patients to their treatments.
Bob touched many lives with his strength and kindness. He love spending time with his family, including his many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey C. Doan. Survivors include six daughters; Sheree Henning of Chico, Pamela Doan of Handord, Kelly Conner, Leann Bolen and Vicky Gleckner of Crescent City and Dina Cleveland of Livermore; two son-in-laws, Marty Henning and Rex Cleveland; a sister LaNora Nelson and a brother, Darrell "Champ" Doane, of Oroville; a sister-in-law, Bonnie Adams of Crescent City; 11 grandchildren and three great granddaughters, and his constant companion, "Rosie".
