Muriel Margaret Luben, the daughter of Jesse and Sarah (Leidy) Fraka, was born on April 30, 1925 in Inman, Nebraska. She passed away on August 28, 2013 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, Hastings, Nebraska, at the age of 88 years, 3 months, 29 days.
Muriel was one of six children; she attended Inman Public School graduating from Inman High School. She was a member of the Oak Community Church being baptized in 1968 by Pastor Rena Ouding. On April 12, 1944 she was united in marriage to Merlin Luben at Inman, Nebraska and to this union three children were born.
Muriel had a business of upholstery and furniture refinishing which she truly enjoyed. She loved music, singing in the church choir at the Inman Methodist Church and also the Oak Community Church until ill health caused her to quit. Throughout her lifetime, Muriel lived in the communities of Inman, Clearwater, Salina, Kansas and Oak, Nebraska.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Merlin on May 11, 2009; two brothers Willard and Lowell Fraka and three sisters Esther Vrooman, Ruth Conard, and Hazel Luben.
She is survived by her children Gary of Oak, Nebraska; LeeAnn Schutte of Hastings, Nebraska; and Dean and wife Cindy of Oak, Nebraska; 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
