Joe Hartman, 93, of Rockville, Indiana passed away Thursday, December 23, 2021, at Vermillion Convalescent Center in Clinton.

He retired from the Parke County REMC after many years of service.

He was born January 18, 1928, in Rockville, Indiana to the late Henry Hartman and Nelle McGrannahan Hartman.

His wife of 69 years, Martha Jean Davies Hartman whom he married on October 4, 1947, preceded him in death on January 24, 2017.

Survivors include one son, Steve (Hazel) Hartman of Trinity, Florida; one daughter, Cynthia Hartman Jones of Rockville; three grandchildren, Erin (John) Weber, of Valparaiso, Phil (Amy) Hartman of Leesburg, Virginia and Mark Hartman of Hermosa Beach, California; one step-granddaughter, Tara (Tom) Fulton of Naperville, Illinois; four great-grandchildren, Hope and Kate Weber and Patrick and Nathan Hartman; two step great-grandchildren, Coco and Jack Fulton; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by eight siblings.

He was a member of the Rockville First United Methodist Church. He was a former member of the Rockville Jaycees and Rockville Elk's Lodge #2471. He enjoyed playing golf.

Services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at Gooch Funeral Home, 112 W. Howard Street, Rockville. Burial will follow at Memory Garden Cemetery in Rockville.
