Mrs. Catherine (Gresh) Stuart, beloved husband of Mr. Edgar (Dave) Stuart, died Saturday, July 27, 1996. Born in Hartford, December 3, 1920, daughter of the late Joseph and Victoria (Revak) Gresh, she resided in the Unionville and Farmington area all of her life. She was a graduate of Farmington High School, and was the first woman member of the Tunxis Valley Band, where she played the trumpet. Prior to retiring, she was employed in the office of Sanford and Hawley Company in Unionville for 18 years. She was a life long member of the Church of St. Mary Star of the Sea in Unionville. Besoides her husband, she leaves her loving daughters and their husbands, Jeanne S. and Peter Griffin of Unionville, and Marilyn S. and Joseph Haklin of Kalamazoo, MI; and four grandchildren, Patrick and his wife Mary Beth (Scully) Griffin, Christian Griffin, Timothy Griffin, all of Unionville, and Kathryn Haklin of Kalamazoo, MI. She also leaves many special cousins and friends. Friends may call at The Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main St., Route 4, Unionville, on Tuesday evening, 6- 8 p.m. Funeral procession from the Ahern Funeral Home will be Wednesday, 9:15 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in the Church of St. Mary Star of the Sea, 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Avon. Memorial contributions may be made to the Church of St. Mary Star of the Sea, 16 Bidwell Square, Unionville, CT 06085.
