FEBRUARY 3, 1931 – MARCH 27, 2020
Alfred C. Self of Birmingham, AL was born on February 3, 1931 and passed away on Friday, March 27, 2020 at the age of 89. He served his country proudly during the Korean War in the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Self was a longtime member of Pinson United Methodist Church and retired from Square D Company as a tool and die maker with over 49 years of service. He was an avid Alabama football fan and enjoyed pulling for his Crimson Tide! Mr. Self was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jeanette Self; a son, Mark Self; grandson, Walker Self; parents, Rupert Self and Noma Darden Self; his sisters, Hilda Green, Mildred Martin, and Nanny Lou Brumbeloe; brothers, Leo Self, Byrd Self, Earl Self, and Wilson Self. He is survived by a granddaughter, Amanda Gibson; his nieces, nephews, and other extended family. A family graveside service will be held at Marvins Chapel Cemetery in Pinson, Alabama.
