She was born in West Townshend, VT, on April 26, 1919, the daughter of Ray W. and Mary L. (Smith) Dean.
She was formerly employed by Wilson Photo Finishing in Castleton, Green Mountain Motel in Rutland, and in her later years, worked part-time at the Rutland County Humane Society in Pittsford.
Eula enjoyed gardening, cooking, playing cards, and loved her animals.
She is survived by two sons: David Porter and wife, Janet of Ira, and Ed Porter and wife, Ruth of Summerfield, FL; three daughters, Barbara Hinckley of Rutland, Nancy Wilson and husband, Frederick of Somersworth, N.H., and Jeanie Phelps of Rutland; one brother, Calvin Dean of Newfane, VT, and half-brother, David Dean of Indiana; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Porter in 1967; second husband, Morris Taylor in 1999; two daughters, Bonnie Porter in 1959, and Eula McDermott in 1999; and a son, Ronald Porter in 1996.
Calling hours will be private.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, August 31, 2013, at 12 noon in Evergreen Cemetery in Pittsford.
Memorial contributions in Eula's memory may be made to the Rutland County Humane Society, 765 Stevens Road, Pittsford, VT 05763.
Arrangements are being handled by the Barnard Funeral Home in Pittsford.
