Marshall Foster Ray, age 69, of Mangum, passed away late Friday evening, August 23, 2013, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital, in Altus.

Mr. Ray was born in Mangum, Oklahoma on June 14, 1944, to George Ray and Willie Mae Kilgore. After attending Mangum School, Marshall joined the United States Marines and served his country for the next six years. Returning to Mangum, Marshall was employed by Republic Gypsum. After a short time, Marshall began a job with the City of Mangum, where he spent the next thirty-eight years. After his retirement he enjoyed spending his spare time fishing, playing dominoes, working on old cars and playing with his grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Ricky Ray; two sisters, Carie Ann Ray and Janette Hendricks and one granddaughter, he is survived by nine children, Kevin Wells of Lawton, Charles Haley, Jr. of Lawton, Michael Fulton of Augusta, Georgia, Marshalle Palmer of Mangum, Marilyn Connor of Cleveland, Ohio, Geremy Ganaway of New Jersey, Mark and Kristie Ganaway of Hobart, Crystal Ganaway of Hobart and Damion Schoolcraft of Lone Wolf; six sisters, Candy Williams of Mangum, Elizabeth Lane of Oklahoma City, Joyce Miller of Florida, Helen Callins of California, Lisa Ray of California and Diane Ray of Oklahoma City; five brothers, Thomas Kilgore, Robert Ray, Jerry Ray, Ronnie Ray and Michael McDougle; nineteen grandchildren; two great grandchildren along with many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Marshall Ray will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, August 27, 2013, at the First Baptist Church with Pastor James Callins officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery under the direction of Greer Funeral Home of Mangum.
