Mr. Herren died at his residence on Thursday, April 27.
He was born in Randolph County on April 22, 1922, son of Willie and Hattie Burgess Herren. He had been employed with Randolph County as an equipment operator and was a member of Bethel East Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Myrtie Lou Gosdin and Frances Jean Herren, and a grandchild, Jason Herren.
Survivors include his wife, Ena Cofield Herren of Woodland; a son, Frankie Herren of Woodland; two sisters, Eunice Lewis and Irene Bailey of Woodland; a brother, Wallace Herren of LaGrange; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jerry Herren, Greg Bailey, Ricky Bailey, Clarence Lewis, Wendell Herren and Mike Kirby.
Arrangements were by Benefield Funeral Home, Wedowee.
