"Raymond", as he was known to all, served as a Corporal (posthumous promotion) in the U.S. Army, Company "D", 20th Infantry, 11th Light Infantry Brigade. He was killed in action at age 21 in Quang Ngai Province, Republic of South Vietnam. He was awarded the Silver Star and Purple Heart.
