A graduate of Taft Union High School with the Class of 1966. "Raymond", as he was known to all, served as a Corporal (posthumous promotion) in the U.S. Army, Company "D", 20th Infantry, 11th Light Infantry Brigade. He was killed in action at age 21 in Quang Ngai Province, Republic of South Vietnam. He was awarded the Silver Star and Purple Heart. His name can be found on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial (The Wall) in Washington, DC: Panel 23W; Row 059.
