ONAWA, Iowa -- Judy Kay Richardson, 70, of Onawa passed away Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2011, at her residence.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Rush Family Care Service in Onawa, with the Rev. Tom Scott officiating. There will be no burial at this time. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Condolences may be left online for the family at www.rushfamilycareservice.com.

Judy Kay was born April 7, 1941, in Little Sioux, Iowa, the daughter of Ed and Vivian (Coats) Beers. She graduated from Little Sioux High School and attended Western Iowa Tech Community College.

Judy and Donald Richardson were united in marriage and four children were born to this union. They made their home in Onawa where they raised their children. Donald passed away in February 1972. Judy was employed at Burgess Memorial Hospital more than 25 years.

She was a member of First Christian Church and a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her special friend of 32 years, David Watson of Onawa; four children, Sheila (Bryan) Cole of Onawa, Luann (Tom) O'Doherty of Omaha, Carlann (Kevin) Mesenbrink of Onawa and David (Erin) Richardson of Onawa; three stepchildren, Greg Watson of Colorado, Terry (Bonnie) Watson of Onawa and Jodi (Bob) Pranschke of Onawa; 21 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband Donald, she was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Jim Beers; and her best friend, Lois Lesenyie.
