Jeff, 64, of Lake Odessa went to be with the Lord Sunday, August 25, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family after a long battle with diabetes and heart disease. Jeff was born to Irol and Nellie (Curtis) Wells.

He was a 1967 graduate of Lakewood High School and stayed active with Lakewood Sports until he was unable due to health. Jeff served our country in the Air Force for four years being stationed at Kinchloe AFB in Kinross, MI. On May 9, 1970 he married Judy Bever at the Lakewood United Methodist Church in Lake Odessa and she survives.

Jeff spent 31 years as a buyer for General Motors in Lansing. During retirement Jeff kept busy by working for Vern's Sport and Repair. He enjoyed coaching junior high school girl's basketball and boys varsity track.

Jeff was an avid fisherman, serving as president of Michigan Steelheaders Association, also teaching many how to tie flies and built several of his own rods. While his health permitted, Jeff enjoyed hunting and teaching his son-in-law and grandchildren the joys of the sport. Recently, he enjoyed his time spent at the American Legion Post #0045 in Hastings, MI.

Survivors include: wife Judy, children Darcy Wells, Amy (Mark) Wilkinson, siblings Curt Wells, Saundra (Peter) Schanski, grandchildren Alayna Wells, Alex Wells, Ashley Wilkinson, Amara Wells, Adrionna Wilkinson, Landry Wilkinson, great-grand child Payton LaVictor, 4 nephews and 2 nieces.

Jeff was proceeded in death by his parents.

A celebration of Jeff's life was held at Lakewood United Methodist Church 11am on Thursday, August 29, 2013.
