He graduated from Janesville High School in 1933 and then attended the University of Wisconsin. He served in the US Air Corps during WWII for 4 years. He then partnered with his brother Bill Bostwick and together they owned and operated R. M. Bostiwck Clothing Store in Janesville for 35 years. He married Marjorie Haas and she died in 1985. Charles was very active in Trinity Episcopal Church and very loyal to his mother, who was widowed in 1924, until her death in 1969. Charles was survived by a daughter; three sons; two grandchildren; two sisters; a daughter-in-law; and two brothers in law.
