A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. today at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off for Newman "U.B" Paul Toups Jr., 62, a native and resident of Cut Off, who died at 7:10 a.m. Friday. May 7.
Interment was in the church cemetery.
He was the husband of Emma Lois Charpentier Toups; father of Dianna Rousse; brother of George Toups, Aline Bruce, Agnes Sonnier and Victoria Breaux. He is also survived by two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Newman and Anathans Bourg Toups; three sisters and an infant daughter.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War and a member of the American Legion Post 315 of Galliano.
