Christine Topham Frazier, of Lynchburg, passed away on Monday, December 10, 2012 at Westminister Canterbury. She was the wife of the late Herbert A. Frazier. She was born in Los Angeles, California, a daughter of the late Dr. Bertram Topham and Gertrude Vollmer Topham. Christine was a graduate of Brenaw College, Gainesville, Georgia and was very active in her church and many civic organizations. She was a member of Lane Memorial United Methodist Church, where she served as youth counselor for thirteen years, was President of the United Methodist Women, member of the Administrative Board, the Finance Committee and the Pastor-Parish Relations Committee. She was also a Trustee and served on the Board of Directors of the District United Methodist Women. Christine founded the Altavista Little Theatre and served as its Director for over fifteen years. She was co-founder with Minnie Lane of the Altavista Y.M.C.A.; a charter member of the Altavista Women's Club, Chairman of the Heart Fund Drive for three years and served on the district board of the Piedmont Heart Association. She is survived by her son, H.H. "Sandy" Frazier and his wife, Mary Hull Frazier; two grandchildren, Herbert A. "Chip" Frazier II, and Christina Frazier Jervey; three step-grandchildren, Charles Marks, Henry Marks and Chad O'Neill; and two great grandchildren, Frazier Jervey and Johnnie Jervey. Christine celebrated her 100th birthday this past June with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 13, 2012 at Lane Memorial United Methodist Church by the Rev. Alan Combs. The family will have a private burial.
