Rev. Jack Ian Hatton, 90, of Kansas City, Mo., passed away August 23, 2013. Visitation 11 a.m., service 12 p.m. Thursday, at Floral Hills Funeral Home. Burial at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. Jack was born Aug. 6, 1923, in Trenton, Mo. Preceded in death by daughter, Sharon Leilani Watanabe; father, John Hatton; and mother, Valeria Hatton. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Norma Lee Hatton; sons, Bruce Hatton of Cameron, Mo., and John Hatton of Long Island, NY; daughter, Carol Lee Ramos (Larry) of Kansas City; sister, Rev. Jean Churchill of Honolulu, Hawaii; grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Jack served in the US Army and was stationed in Burma and Calcutta, India, in World War II. Upon returning from the war, he married Norma, and they moved to Hawaii to work as Christian missionaries in 1950. Jack served as a church pastor in Hawaii. When he retired from the ministry in 1987, a large part of his heart always remained in Hawaii. He will be deeply missed by all his family and friends.
