William John SHAW, son of John and Martha SHAW, born near Greensburgh, Westmoreland county PA; died near Larkinburg KS. Came to KS in 1878; settled 7 miles east of Holton. Married Carrie KNIER, near Hoyt, 1901. Survived by wife and three children: Ira and Alfred SHAW, Holton, and Ethel, Cottey College, Nevada MO. Died at home of sister Mrs. J.C. TORRENCE. Survived by brothers: A.M. and Dr. J.C. Shaw, Topeka; Knox and Dr. R.T. Shaw, Holton. Rev. R.F. Porter, Methodist church. Buried Holton cemetery.
