Alice and her family resided in McClure, Ohio until her retirement from Campbell's Soup Company in 1979. Then after 10 years of retirement living in Kaleva, Michigan, she returned to McClure where she lived until her move to the Grand Rapids Care Center in October of 2010.
Alice's membership at the Country Chapel Christian Union Church, in rural Napoleon gave her many years of enjoyment. She spent much time reading her Bible and sharing the gospel.
She is survived by her four children, Richard Light of Swanton, Ohio, Linda (Jim) Ott, of Berkey, Ohio, Kathy (Jose) Sandoval of Weston, Ohio, and Robert "Nate" (Deb) Light, Jr. of McClure, Ohio,13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by sisters; Mary Stafer, Vera Atkinson, Ellen Brutcher, Opal Naugle, Hazel Hackworth, Edrie Hoover, and brothers; Garwood, Lewis, and Richard Sweeney.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-8 p.m. at Rodenberger Funeral Home, McClure and 1 hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m at Country Chapel Christian Union Church, Q-111 Twp. Rd 6B, Napoleon, OH 43545. Interment will be at the Hockman Cemetery, McClure, immediately following the service.
The family suggests memorials be made to County Chapel Christian Union Church, The Gideons International or a charity of the donor's choice.
