Barbara Ulrichs, 89, a life-time resident of Syracuse, passed on Saturday at Syracuse Home at McHarrie Place in Baldwinsville with family at her side. Barbara was a graduate of Eastman Dental Dispensary in 1946 where she earned her Certificate as a Dental Hygienist. She worked for several years as a hygienist in the Hamilton school system. In 1976 she earned her Associates Degree in Applied Science in Medical Record Technology from Monroe Community College in Rochester and finished her career as a Medical Records Technician in the Crouse Hospital Admitting office. Survived by her nephew, Steven Glenn Orihood of Livermore, California; and her cousins, Beverly Cummings of Pittsfield, Massachusetts, Catherine and Edward Robbins of Wilbraham, Massachusetts, Jennifer Cummings and partner, Phyllis Nechemias of Stephentown, NY and Donna and Robert Cummings of Cicero. She is predeceased by her sister, Audrey Orihood. Barb was a long-time and devoted member of St. Paul's Episcopal Cathedral in downtown Syracuse. She greatly enjoyed her years of service on the Christmas decorating committee. Funeral services will be 11 a. m. Wednesday at the Fairchild & Meech DeWitt Chapel, 3690 Erie Boulevard East, Dewitt. Friends may call at 10 a.m. to 11 a. m. before the service at the Fairchild & Meech Chapel. Burial will be at White Chapel Memory Gardens Cemetery, Dewitt. Contributions can be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church 310 Montgomery St. Syracuse, NY 13202.
