OBITUARY-
Herbert Daniel Lombard, son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Lombard, was born near Osage Iowa, Nov. 28, 1885. He grew to manhood on the farm where he was born and lived there until about 20 years ago when he and his family moved to Estacada, Ore., a small town near Portland.
He passed away June 14, 1944, at the lumber camp where he was employed, near Cherryville, Ore.
He went out to his work as usual that morning, but after working a while complained of not feeling well and returned to camp saying he would lie down for a while.
About half an hour later one of the men went in to see how he was and found him dead. The coroner and doctor pronounced it a heart ailment.
In March 1909, he was married to Ruth Chandler, who with four children survive him. They are, Mrs. Walter Ramsey (Clarice), of Sherwood, Ore.; Muriel and Donald, both of Portland, Ore., and Helen at Otis, Ore. One son died in infancy. There are also four grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Robert Whipple of Charles City, Iowa, and Mrs. Ernest Woods of Faribault, Minn.
Funeral services were held at Estacada, June 16, the pastor of the Methodist church officiating, and Mr. Lombard was laid to rest in the I.O.O.F. cemetery here.
