Betty Jo Wooton
Betty Jo Wooton, 56, of Hazard, died Saturday, August 26, 2006 at the Hazard Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Hobert and Nancy Wooton.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Charolette Sexton and husband James and Dorie Ambrose and husband Jerry, all of Hazard; 2 sisters, Pauline Cumbow of Hazard; Fanny Wooton of Big Willard; 2 brothers, James Wooton of Knott Co.; Wilburn Wooton of Austin, IN; 5 grandchildren, host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Funeral was conducted Tuesday, August 29, 2006 at Maggard Brothers Chapel with Rev. J. L. McIntosh and Rev. Minor Feltner officiating, burial in the Campbell Cemetery in Willard. Maggard Brothers Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Betty was married to Finley Helton in Virginia in 1967. She was 18, but he was 30, but told them he was 20. He was the son of Sid Helton and Polly Couch Helton.. He was born before 1940, because he's in the 1940 Census..born around 1938. Don't know why he lied, but Ive known other that have gone to Virginia an done the same. Not sure where Finley is buried and why he wasn't named in her obit.. Polly Helton and a Sid Couch ( who I think is Helton) are buried in a Hoskins Turner Cem. at Busy. There's a Finley there, but birthday is 1961 and death in 1979, doesn't fit our Finley, but they could have the wrong dates. Here's some info on Finely
