Mr. Darrell Franklin Logan, 85, a longtime resident of Randolph County, died Saturday, August 24, 2013 at the High Point Regional Health System. He was born on August 30, 1927 in Guilford County to Claude and Lois Logan. He was a US Navy veteran having served during WWII and a member of Zion United Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Lucille Wall Logan on December 21, 2005, whom he married on December 21, 1946; and a son, Terry Franklin Logan. Surviving are a daughter, Sherry Logan Tucker and husband Ardel of Trinity; one son, Randall Craig Logan and wife Rhonda of Silver Valley; brother, Bobby Logan and wife Betty of Maryland; four grandchildren, Bennie Ray Johnston and wife Kim, Terry Logan, Jr., Shannon Milliam Farson and husband Kyle, and Robbie Ray Snider and wife Tracey; and several loving great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville with Rev. James Simonds officiating. Interment with military honors provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home from 1:00 – 2:00 pm and at other times at the home of his daughter, Sherry Tucker in Trinity.
