Don E. Morrison was born on May 2, 1933, as a son of Dyle and Tressie(Johnston)Morrison. He attended country school and graduated from Kinross High School in 1951. Don served in the US Army from 1953-54. He was united in marriage to Marilyn Scott on February 4, 1954 in Westfield, Indiana. They made their home in rural South English and have lived ther ever since. Farming and family was his life. He enjoyed attending his children's and grandchildren's ball games and activities. He served on numerous community boards throughout his lifetime. Don was a member of the Kinross Christian Church and the Farmers Masonic Lodge No. 168 A.F.& A.M. He is survived by his wife Marilyn of South English; seven children: Vicki(Richard)Barnett of Macon, MO; Dr. Doug(Sue)Morrison of Crivitz, WI; Dan(Jody)Morrison of South English, IA; Brenda(David)Ranum of Decorah, IA; David Morrison of Cedar Rapids, IA; Mari(Alan)Ackerman of South English, IA; and Dick(Nancy)Morrison of South English, IA; 22 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; brother Wayne(Ellen)Morrison of Williamsburg; IA; sisters Carolee(Delmar)Senger of Olathe, KS; Marsha(Terry)Steinhart of Sigourney, IA and Debra(Jerry)Bellinghausen of Britt, IA. Don was preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at the Powell Funeral Home in North English. Pastor Jim Stout will officiate. Visitation and Masonic Rites will be at the Powell Funeral Home on Friday, August 30th from 4-8 pm with Msonic service at 7:45 pm. Burial with military rites will be in the
Brethern Cemetery near South English. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for the Kinross Christian Church and the South English QRS.
