Wanda gave her life to the Lord at the age of 13 and never looked back. She attended St. Matthews United Freewill Baptist Church as a young girl but moved to Trinity Temple Church of God in Christ upon meeting her future husband and accepting Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Here she served in many capacities: Choir President, Young Women's Christian Council (YWCC) and Young People's Willing Workers (YPWW) amongst many others. In 1994 Wanda established the Christian Women's League, a ministry designed to empower the women of God. Here Wanda was allowed to showcase her love and devotion for women's ministry. For the past 16 years the Christian Women's League has evolved from a retreat to an annual conference, far exceeding Wanda's expectations. In 1996 the Lord called Eld. Roger Wilkins to pastor his own church and Maranatha Ministries was established. Wanda served alongside her husband as First Lady. She was member of the ministerial staff as a Missionary/Evangelist, President of the Youth Department, President of the Family Resource Center, President of the Women's Department, and host of other offices.
Wanda is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Pastor Roger Wilkins, whom she has known since the age of nine. Wanda also leaves to mourn her two daughters, Erica Elizabeth Wilkins and Ashley Danielle Wilkins both of New Haven, CT; Both her parents Milton & Mildred Moore of Winterville, NC; one sister, Felicia Murray (Anthony) of Rincon, GA; two brothers Phillip Moore of New Haven, CT and Derrick Moore (Shontise) of Baltimore, MD; Four sister-in-laws Mary Thomas-McNeil, Earnestine Gorley, and Gloria Wilkins of New Haven, CT, Shirley Bellinger of Hamden, CT; a host of nieces, nephews, God-children, relatives, and friends.
Wanda was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, friend and most of all, a Woman of God. She believed that whatever you do for God must be done in excellence.
