Donna Maxine Hogsett
(September 12, 1913 - January 21, 2008)

Donna Maxine Hogsett, 94, of Flagstaff went to be with her Lord and Savior on Jan 21, 2008.

She was born September 12, 1913 in Springdale, AR to Frank B. and Sylvia Belle Howland. She moved to Beaver, OK at the age of 4 where her father ran a jewelry store. She attended school in Beaver Graduating in 1931 from high school.

She received a music scholarship for violin at the State College in Goodwell, OK where she attended until marring her high school sweetheart Guy L. Hogsett on April 13, 1932.

They lived various places in Oklahoma and New Mexico until moving to Winslow, AZ in 1948 where her husband was employed as a Brakeman/Conductor for the Santa Fe railroad. There, she raised her three sons and lived in Winslow until age precluded her from caring for her husband and son Eddie.

In 1998 she moved to Flagstaff with her husband and son Eddie to be cared for by her son Alvin until her death. She was a loving and devoted spouse, mother and grand mother caring for her eldest son Eddie all her life. She loved to travel, play cards and be with family. She was an accomplished musician and played the violin, piano and organ. She was a member of the UTU Ladies Auxiliary, AARP, Winslow Senior Center, First Christian Church and later the First Assembly of God Church until her death.

She was preceded in death by her sister Edith, Husband Guy, one son Jerry and one great grand daughter Jerrica.

She is survived by two sons Edwin and Alvin (Mary) of Flagstaff, one grandson, two grand daughters, one great grand daughter, three great grandsons and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at Norvel Owens Mortuary in Winslow at 11:00 am on Wednesday January 30 with a visitation one hour prior. Internment will be at Desert View Cemetery, Winslow, AZ.
