Frances, the daughter of George and Kate (nee Choczynski) Dubel, was born at 25 Lombard Street, in Buffalo, New York USA. Frances was born Franciszka, but did not know this fact until she applied for Social Security at retirement. Boy, was she surprised because the family called her Frances.

Frances met and dated Frank Maciejewski
during the year 1929. They were married on July 29, 1930 at Holy Apostles Peter and Paul R.C. Church, Buffalo, New York. The Church was almost directly across the street from Frances' parents house on Clinton Street.
Frances and her husband, Frank endured the hard times of the depression and World War II while raising their first two children: Frances and Frank, Jr. They were later blessed with two more children: Florence Marie and Florian.
Frances was very devoted to her husband and children.
Frances' husband, Frank died in 1956 of a heart attack at age 46 leaving her to raise her children, take care of a house and yard by herself. She had to go to work to support her family. Over her lifetime Frances worked at: Barmon Brothers Co., Inc. in Buffalo, New York sewing; Garden of Sweets, William Street, Buffalo, New York; Victoria's Bridal Shop, Buffalo, New York sewing bridal dresses; Raleigh Smith's Dairy, West Seneca, New York as a clerk and waitress; babysitting for Dr. and Mrs. Ricci; and taking in ironing, especially shirts.
Frances was an excellent seamstress. She sewed: her daughter Frances' wedding dress, her daughter Florence's prom dress, all the curtains in her house, most of Florence's clothes and clothes for herself. Frances also loved gardening, crocheting, knitting, needlepoint, hooking rugs, making bedspreads, making dolls with fancy dresses for the bed, making paper flowers, cooking, and baking. Frances also loved to read and collect salt and pepper shakers which she kept in her China Cabinet.
It was fitting that Frances passed on Christmas Eve. Christmas was her favorite holiday. Frances enjoyed the Polish family tradition of Christmas Eve and being with her family. Frances loved decorating the tree and house, baking Christmas cookies and making pierogiis for Christmas Eve dinner. The family came together at her funeral to celebrate her life. Naturally, the funeral breakfast was held at the Polish Villa Restaurant. The Church and restaurant were all decorated for Christmas. There was a fresh layer of snow on the ground the morning of Frances' funeral. The snow clung to the trees. Everything was white. It was as if Frances had it all planned.
