Barbara A. Dodge, age 83, a 50 year resident of Plymouth, died Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013 at the Jordan Hospital in Plymouth. She was the devoted wife of the late Raymond H. Dodge. Loving Mother of Glenn R. Dodge of Plymouth, and Brian E. Dodge and his wife Glennie also of Plymouth. She is also survived by her two grandchildren Michael and Timothy Dodge of Plymouth, her siblings Ruth Tobias of Plymouth, Charles H. Black Jr. of Braintree, and Richard L. Black of Braintree, as well as many nieces and nephews. Born in Arlington MA on Feb. 17, 1930, daughter of the late Charles H. and Ruth V. (Callahan) Black. Barbara was a graduate of Quincy High School, and attended the Lee Inst., where she acquired her Real Estate Brokers License. She worked for Houston Natural Gas in TX, Boston Gear Works in N. Quincy, and later sold Real Estate under her own license. Barbara was a town of Plymouth meeting rep., a member of the Cedarville Arts and Crafts club, the Little Red School House committee, and a leader of the 4-H Garden club. She loved gardening, reading, fishing, the lottery, yard sales, and was a baseball fan, especially the Red Sox. A visitation will take place at the Cartmell Funeral Home, 150 Court St. Plymouth, on Tuesday, Aug. 27 from 5 till 8 p.m. A service will be held in the funeral home the following day at 10 a.m. Burial will take place in Vine Hills Cemetery, Plymouth.
