Lovina (a.k.a. "Lavina") Christina Nichols was the daughter of Samuel & Christena A. (Boyer) Nichols. Lovina grew up on a family farm in Jackson Township, Shelby County, OH. On February 17, 1872, Lovina was married to Jason C. Young by Shelby County Justice of the Peace John Navetie. Jason and Lovina set up housekeeping in Jackson Township but moved several times prior to Jason's death in 1902. Records of the couple can be found in Shelby County, Logan County, Auglaize County, and finally in Delaware County - all in Ohio. Jason died shortly after the final move to Delaware County and Lovina was left to manage the family farm along with two of her teenage sons. Jason and Lovina parented 8 children several of whom died in infancy: George Delmar Young (also buried at Glen Cemetery), Sarah Christina Young (also buried at Glen Cemetery), Mary Eliza "Mollie" Young, Samuel Young (also buried at Glen Cemetery), an unnamed infant male who survived less than two days (also buried at Glen Cemetery), Warden Osbern Young (also buried at Glen Cemetery), Arthur Lott Young, and Ernest Roscoe Young. (Subsequent to the taking of the photo of Lovina's Glen Cemetery marker, her death year of "1933" was engraved on the stone.)
