Boyd James Sorensen
Scipio, Millard County – Boyd James Sorensen, 69, of Scipio, died Friday, July ll, 1975 of heart failure in Juab County Hospital.
He was the brother of two Nephi women.
He was born March 13, 1906 in Scipio to James A. and Josie Ann Memmott Sorensen. He married Myrtle Olsen on April 15, 1931 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Mr. Sorensen was a graduate of Nephi High School. He owned and operated Scipio Merc and was a farmer livestock raiser and beekeeper.
Active in the LDS Church, Mr. Sorensen was a high priest at the time of his death.
Survivors include his widow; two daughters and five sons, Mrs. Acel (Dorthy) Smith, Bluffdale, Salt Lake County; Mrs. Dean (Leila) Seeley, St. Anthony, Ida.; Jay Sorensen, Myton, Duchesne County; Garth Sorensen, Roosevelt; Gareld Sorensen, Salt Lake City; Duane Sorensen, Granger; and Udell Sorensen, Scipio; 27 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers and four sisters, Leland Sorensen, McGill, Nev.; Darrell Sorensen, Rock Springs, Wyo.; Mrs. Ronald (Louise) Gowers and Mrs. Arlin (Nellie) Stephenson, both of Nephi; Mrs. Londo (Edith) Deardon, Fillmore; and Mrs. Max (Beth) Curtis, Aurora, Sevier County.
Funeral Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. in Scipio Ward Chapel. Friends may call at Olpin Mortuary in Fillmore tonight from 8 to 9 o'clock and at the Scipio Chapel Monday prior to services. Burial will be Scipio Cemetery.
