Mrs. Hyatt was a lady esteemed by many people, and was held in the highest of respect by those with whom she associated. She was a true mother and was always solicitous for their welfare and success in life.

The deceased was born in Brownhelm, Loraine County, Ohio, Aug. 20, 1832. In 1841 she with the pioneers crossed the plains to Salt Lake Valley, and in 1852 she came to Parowan, which place she has made her home ever since.

In 1854 she was married to John S. Hyatt, ten children resulting from the union, seven of whom survive her. Her husband died several years ago, since which time she has lived with her children.

The children who survive thier mother are John Joseph Hyatt, Mrs. Inez Le------, Herbert Smith Hyatt, Mrs Melissa Benson, James Ambrose Hyatt, Mrs Sadie Lowder, Mrs Helen Taylor. With the above there are 69 grandchildren and 51 great grandchildren who mourn her departure.
