Nina L. Hess, 86, of Athens, Wisconsin, passed away at her home on August 25, 2013. She was born on April 17, 1927, to parents Lester R. and Nettie (Ulrey) Kinzie. On September 13, 1947 she was united in marriage with Daniel M. Hess. Their early married years were in Pennsylvania; then they moved to Indiana, where they raised their family. After her companion's death in 1992, she moved to Athens, Wisconsin. She was a member of the Old German Baptist Brethren Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband; also, 3 brothers, Edward Kinzie, Raymond Kinzie, John Kinzie, and one sister Edna Garber.

Surviving are her four children, John A. and companion Barbara of Rossville, IN, and Janet L. Wagoner and companion Gene of Trenton, MO, Stephen R. and companion Alice of Chambersburg, PA, and Philip W. and companion Susan of Athens, WI, 22 grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Wayne Kinzie of Eaton, OH, Ron Kinzie of Cleveland, GA and one sister, Evah Rinehart of Lafayette, IN.

After services near Athens, WI, a visitation and services will be held on August 28, 2013, at the Deer Creek Old German Baptist Brethren Church, just south of Camden, IN. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.. The service will begin at 10:30 a.m., with the home brethren officiating. Burial will be at the Musselman Cemetery.
