She was born November 13, 1924 in Lynchburg, a daughter of the late Charles F. Eggers and Bonnie Perry Eggers. She was a member of Lynch Station Baptist Church and a retired employee of Burlington Industries. Vera and her husband were best known as the "Tag Lady and Tag Man" for collecting antique license plates.
She is survived by two sons, Fred K. Tucker, Jr. of Lynch Station and Daniel Stephen Tucker and his wife Carolyn of Gladys; three sisters, Mattie Droog, Helen Davidson and husband Bobby all of Forest and Vada Barrett and husband Jack of Providence, Rhode Island; four grandchildren, Marnie (Pascal) Spino, Sherry (Gary) Wien, Michael (Christina) Tucker and Missy (Jake) Roberts; four great- grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia A. Tucker; a sister, Estelle Arnette; and three brothers, Ab, Chuck and Jimmy Eggers.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 6, 2013 at Finch and Finch Chapel, Altavista by the Rev. Ted Fusion with interment to follow in Green Hill Cemetery.
