Louise was a kind, intelligent, hard working woman. She cherished her daughters and was very proud of them. She suffered terribly from arthritis.

Lula Louise Van Patten Henderson, 87, of Vestal, entered into eternal rest on August 29, 2003, at Ideal Nursing Center. She was a member of Campville United Methodist Church and Endicott Senior Community Center, where she received many certificate awards for her crocheted hats, scarves, and lap robes for the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP). She graduated from Owego Free Academy in 1933 and attended Albany State College. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas L.; parents, Cecil and Ina Van Patten; sisters, Ruth Lewis and Eleanor Van Patten; and brothers, Harold and Walter Van Patten. She is survived by her daughters, Judy Boyd, Hobe Sound, Fla., and Jill Henderson, Vestal Center; brother, Erwin Van Patten, Charlotte, N.C.; three grandchildren, Daniel Griffis and Denise Edner, Vestal, and Karen Boyd, Colorado Springs, Colo.; also four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 765 Main St., Vestal, on Thursday, September 4, 2003, at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Vestal Hills Memorial Park. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Endicott Community Center, Lincoln Ave., Endicott, N.Y. 13760.
