Note: Thomas emmigrated to the US in 1872. He was naturalized before 1900. The 1880 US census lists Thomas and Elizabeth in Brooklyn, Kings Co., New York. Thomas was working as a varnish maker. The Brooklyn street directories of 1885, 1889 and 1890 list Thomas living at 927 Butler St. and working as a superintendant at 187 Plymouth. The 1896 edition lists him living at 233 Clifton pl. and working as an agent. The 1899 directory lists him living at 233 Clifton Pl., working as a superintendant. All the latter listings in the street directories list Thomas as a superintendant or manager of a paint company. The companies address is listed as 187 Plymouth until the 1903 edition when it changed to 78 John. In 1900 Thomas and Elizabeth were living at 233 Clifton Pl. They owned their home with a mortgage. Besides their children Elizabeth's sister Alice and two servants born in Ireland were also living with the family. Thomas is listed in the street directories of 1900 through 1906 living at 233 Clifton Pl. Those of 1907 though 1910 list him at 688 Lafayette Ave. The 1910 census lists Thomas and his family living Brookhaven, Suffolk Co., New York. They were living on Brookhaven Ave. (now 285 Beaverdam Rd.). Thomas was listed as a factory superintendant. Thomas' death record lists him as married and his occupation as a paint and varnish manufacturer. His obituary mentions that he was formerly superintendent of the vanish works of the John W. Masury plant in Brooklyn. Thomas was a long time member of St. Ann's P. E. Church in Brooklyn. He was also a member of the Masons
