Age 67 years,3 months,14 days, he married Penelope Folks, who survives, They had 10 children. Also survived by six brothers and 1 sister.First joined Co. D, 101st PA Vol. Inf on 10/9/1861, then Co. A, 184th PA Vol. Inf. on 5/13/1864. Wounded at Cold Harbor, he was taken prisoner, and remained a prisoner for 9 months. (Obit in the July 14, 1899 Bedford Gazette.)
