Phil was a licensed funeral director and a third generation Weber to operate Weber Funeral Home in Edwardsville.
He was born April 27, 1928, in Edwardsville, the son of the late Bernard H. & Florence L. (Kriege) Weber.
Phil married Patsy J. Ohl on January 24, 1954, in Edwardsville. She preceded him in death on May 7, 2011.
Phil taught business and drivers education at Edwardsville High School from 1955 to 1959 and drove a school bus for the school district. Phil then went on to operate the family business, Weber Funeral Home, retiring in 1990.
Phil is survived by two sons, four grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
Phil was preceded in death by one brother, William B. Weber, and one sister, Josephine Weber.
He was a 1950 graduate of Illinois State University, served in the U.S. Army as a second lieutenant during the Korean Conflict, was a member and past president of the Edwardsville Jaycees and the Edwardsville Rotary Club. He was a recipient of Rotary's Paul Harris Fellowship Award. Phil served as Chairman of the Board of Directors at Cloverleaf Savings Bank and was a Board Member there for over 35 years. He was also a 58 year member of Sunset Hills Country Club where he enjoyed playing golf and bridge.
