Marie's parents were James G. Bennett and Louisa "Lulu" McGrath. At her baptism, John L. Stamp (1895-1974) was Marie's sponsor. Her father passed away in 1912. Marie suffered from diabetes beginning at an early age. She worked in Buffalo as a typist for Remington Rand, and was known as a good seamstress and a marvelous cook. The 1930 Federal Census shows Marie, age 20, living at 81 Rutland St. with stepfather Michael Shreenan, mother Lulu McGrath Bennett Shreenan, and brothers Edward and Jim. She married Thomas Leo Dolan on June 9th and 10th, 1933. During the decades thereafter, Marie and Tom lived at various locations in Tonawanda and Niagara Falls NY, and Marie did volunteer work for many a good cause including the Red Cross, the YMCA, Mt. St. Mary's Academy, the Boys' Club, the Kenmore Wheel Chair Home, the United Community Fund and the Catholic Charities. On Nov. 29th, 1953, Marie and Tom were sponsors to the baptism of their nephew, James G. Bennett III, in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Buffalo NY; Rev. James P. Foley performed the ceremony. Marie and Tom had two daughters: Maureen and Luanne. In their later years, Marie and Tom lived on Grand Island NY. Marie passed away exactly two months after the death of her husband.
