Donald A. Stein, 51, formerly of the Town of Binghamton, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Whitney Point on Monday, June 3, 2013.

He is predeceased by his brother, James Stein.

He is survived by his soul mate, Mona Decker; children, Mathew Stein and fiancee Sarah Watson, Andrew Stein, Robert and Jennifer Decker, Mary-Elizabeth and Keith Benedict, Jessica and Glenn Best; grandchildren who were the lights of his life; Marley, Kaycee-Marie, Robert, Christian; sister-in-law, Betty Stein and a loving extended family.

Donald was employed by the Town of Binghamton Highway Dept. and past Director for the Town of Bing. Youth Commission for 12 years being honored in 2009 as the "Town of Binghamton Citizen of the Year" and "Donald A. Stein Day" on January 7th. He will be remembered as being able to fix just about anything and was an Eagle Scout.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 7, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Savage Funeral Home, 338 Conklin Ave. Binghamton, with Rev. William Puckey officiating. The family will welcome friends Thursday from 4 to 7 pm at Savage Funeral Home. The family would like to thank their family and friends for their outpouring of love and support over the past few difficult days.

In lieu of flowers, in honor of Donald's memory, get a ball and glove and play catch with a child.
