Mrs. Ward was born on February 19, 1938, in the Potsdam, New York, a daughter of the late Kenneth and Helen Blodgett Watson. She graduated from Norwood - Norfolk High School, and from beauty school in Utica.
On December 20, 1958, she married John R. "Jack" Ward at Wesleyan Methodist Church in Morley, NY with her uncle Rev. Ray Morgan, officiating.
The couple made their home on the Pine Grove Road for 41 years, where Kay raised her family, and had a salon in her home. She began work as a postal worker in the Glenfield Post Office, and later became Postmaster of the Martinsburg Post Office, retiring in 1998.
She was a member of the Glenfield United Methodist Church and past president of the church UMW organization. Kay was a Life Member of the VFW Post 6912 Auxiliary, and years ago, was active with Eastern Star in Norwood, along with her mother.
Mrs. Ward and her husband spent winters in Alabama. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Jack; three sons and daughters-in-law, Michael W. and Darlene Ward of Glenfield; Kirk J. and Patty Ward of Seneca Falls; Phil D. and Cindy Ward of Lowville; a daughter, Julie A. Wilkinson of Rochester; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by a brother and sister-in-law, Wendall and Jackie Watson.
Burial will be in Martinsburg Cemetery.
