OBITUARY-
Annabelle (Blake) Retterath, 74, of Adams, died Monday, Aug. 30, 2004.
Annabelle was born on March 28, 1930, to Meyer, Iowa, to Albert and Mary (Schaefer) Blake.
She was married to Kenneth J. Retterath on Sept. 27, 1950, in Meyer, Iowa. In the fall of 1951, they moved to Adams, where they made their home.
Annabelle was a member of Sacred Heart Church, church choir, Sacred Heart Council of Catholic Women, Changing Seasons Garden Club, and bridge groups.
Throughout the years, Annabelle was a bookkeeper for Adams Builders Supply, Inc., Adams Agri-Builders, and K. J. Retterath Builders.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth, Adams; children and grandchildren, Russell and Lahoma Retterath of Adams, Michael, Laura, Robert and Charlotte; Sheila and Jack Tessar of Shawano, Wis., Simone and Alex; Julie and Steve Hackensmith of Austin, Alison and Greg; Kelvin and Susie Retterath of Mound, Kole, Kwin and Kade; brothers, James Blake, Riceville, Iowa; Leon and Mary Lou Blake, Mason City, Iowa; sisters, Mary Blake, Stacyville, Iowa; Susan Wageman, Austin; Catherine and Meryln Brown, Fontanelle, Iowa; and many nephews, nieces and cousins.
Annabelle was preceded in death by her father and mother, Albert and Mary Blake; brother-in-law, Gary Wageman; and sister-in-law, Genny Blake.
The family wishes to acknowledge with gratitude, the many fine friendships Annabelle had over the years. The family is honoring her wish of a private memorial mass, with burial following at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Sacred Heart School, Arthritis Foundation, American Red Cross, or donor's choice.
Arrangements are being handled by Adams Funeral Home.
