Orville J. Gasswint,88, passed away Saturday, March 23rd, in Abilene. He was born March 8, 1925 in Abilene, the son of Oliver H. and Ruby E. (Burnworth) Gasswint. Growing up in the area, he attended local schools and graduated from Enterprise High School with the class of 1943. He was a WW II Army veteran and served in the Air Force, retiring 1965. On August 30, 1950, he married Helen Virginia Jones. Most all of their married life was spent in Abilene. He had also been employed by the Eisenhower Library as a guard and custodian, retiring in 1994. Virginia preceded him in death March 3, 1998. He was also preceded in death by 2 sisters, Olive Joyce Gasswint and Shirley Lusk.

Cremation was chosen. The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 6:30 P.M. Monday, March 25th, at the Danner Funeral Home. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date. The family suggests memorial contributions in his name be made to the Nature Conservancy. They may be left at or sent in care of the Danner Funeral Home POB 758 Abilene, Kansas 67410.
