Mrs. Horton was born in Dyess, Arkansas and raised in Etowah, Arkansas. She moved to South Carolina in 1975.
Mrs. Horton was the daughter of Geraldine Hammock Allen of Brighton, Tennessee and the late Tom Turner, Jr. She is survived by her husband, her mother, her step-mother, Joyce Turner of Russellville, AR; two daughters, Karen Horton Stills (Lee) of Lexington, SC and Ginger Horton of Myrtle Beach, SC; five sons, Christopher E. Pearson of Nashville, TN, Michael Alan Horton of Charleston, SC, Sean Horton of Savannah, GA, David Horton of Anaheim, CA, and Michael J. Horton of Lugoff, SC; four granddaughters: Maya Parker-Pearson, Amanda Horton, Anna Horton and Aubreigh Stills; three grandsons: Patrick Horton, Chip Horton and Braxton Stills; two sisters: Teresa Lawson Mays of Forrest City, AR and Renee Turner Padgett of Osceola, IN and her best friend and aunt, Vivalee McDonel Bradford of West Memphis, AR. She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents who raised her, Ocie and Royce McDonel. She was predeceased by an infant sister, Cynthia Kay Turner, her sister, Karen Wagner, her brother, Phil Royce turner, her father, Tom Turner, Jr., paternal grandparents, Levie Turner Perry and tom Turner, Sr.
Funeral services celebrating the life of Donna Turner Horton will be held at 4:00 PM Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church, 2290 Heath Pond Rd., Elgin, SC with the Rev. Paul Miles officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Monday, August 26, 2013 at Kornegay Funeral Home, Lugoff-Elgin Chapel. Memorials may be made in Mrs. Horton's memory to Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church, 2290 Heath Pond Rd., Elgin, SC 29045.
