Anna Ruth VanHoose Wheeler, age 94, of Paintsville, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, August 8th, 2013 at Highlands Regional Medical Center, Prestonsburg, Kentucky.

Anna Ruth was born in Johnson County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Fred C. VanHoose and Miranda Daniels VanHoose. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Marshall Wheeler, one son, Charles Wheeler, two brothers, Perry C. VanHoose and Wendell VanHoose, one half brother, Quimby VanHoose, one half sister, Lilly Preston and one granddaughter, Jamie Muncie.

She is survived by three sons, Fred Marion Wheeler and wife Alice of Salyersville, Kentucky, James Winfrey Wheeler and wife Judy of Winchester, Kentucky, and Wendell Ray Wheeler and wife Ingrid of Xenia, Ohio; two daughters, Glenda Ruth Lucy and husband Earl and Myra Ann Townsend and husband Charles all of Winchester, Kentucky; seven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 11th, 2013 in the Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel with Roger VanHoose officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Memorial Park, at Staffordsville, Kentucky. Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday, August 10, 2013 and after 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 11th, 2013 until time of services at 3:00 p.m. at Jones-Preston Funeral Home.

Pallbearers: James Spencer, Jim Wheeler, Jimmy Wheeler, Bob Goodman, Anthony Blakemore and B.J. Blair
