Son of John Covington and Jane Davis Hankins.

William Franklin Covington married Margaret Wilson Demunbreun ("Demumber" on license) on 21 Dec 1837, in Williamson County, Tennessee.

He built his beautiful home in College Grove, TN. His parents came from VA and settled in Rutherford County, TN. They were the parents of eleven children. He was a strong Southern symphathizer a loyalty he maintained in the face of great odds. In 1861 two of his sons enlisted in Company D of the Twentieth TN. Regiment.
Mr. Covington was considered quite a weather prophet . He developed pneumonia and died thirteen days after his wife's death. They are buried with other family members of their family in the cemetery some 300 yards east of the home place.
