Funeral services for Lorene Caffrey Hamby, age 94, of Bastrop will be held at 3p.m. Monday, July 11, 2005 at Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmie Herring and Rev. Marty Black officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 10, 2005 at Cox Funeral Home, Bastrop.
Mrs. Hamby, a homemaker, was born July 17, 1910 and passed away Friday, July 8, 2005 at home.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Ernest E. Hamby and one daughter, Ruth Jones.
Survivors include seven daughters, Pearl Robinson and husband Paul, Tina Atkins and husband Thomas, Gloria LeBrun and husband "Jr.", JoAnn Turner and husband Colin, all from Bastrop, La, Minnie Halloway and husband Michael of Sterlington, La Hazel Nations of Midwest City, OK and Myrtle Porter of Vicksburg, MS, 22 grandchildren, 43 great-grand children, 27 great great-grand children and one brother, Henry Caffrey and many nieces and nephews, but one very special niece and care-giver, Ivy Gene Winnon.
Pallbearers include Charles Jones, Billy Jones, Jack Jones, Wayne Jones, Roy Jones, Mike Robinson, Eugene Herlong, Ellis Nations, Bobby Porter and Ernie Turner.
