Twenty-five year old Second Lieutenant Henry Lawrence Vinum was killed in action during World War II on April 10, 1945 in Germany.

Henry was the son of Helgor Laurentius Vinum and Teresa Desderea Anderson Vinum. His remains were brought back to the Ocean View Cemetery in 1949.

He was a B-17 pilot. The B-17 was primarily employed by the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF) in the daylight precision strategic bombing campaign of World War II against German industrial and military targets.
