Jo Ann West Barton, 77, of 371 Hopper Fish Camp Rd. Spartanburg, SC died February 3, 2009 at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. A native of Union County, she was the widow of Henry H. Barton and the daughter of the late Earl and Carrie Wallace West. She was member of Lewis Chapel Baptist Church where she served in the Missionary Society and the Sympathy Club. She was retired from Tietex and Wal-Mart. She was predeceased by a son, Joe West, a daughter, Alice McCluney, and a brother, Ernest West. Survivors include two daughters, Barbara McCluney and June Mings both of Spartanburg; two brothers, Earl West and Ernest Beaty both of Spartanburg; five sisters, Carrie Meadows, Colean Buckson, Earlene Wofford, and Rev. Brenda Miller all of Spartanburg, and Evelyn Fowler of Greensboro; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 7, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Lewis Chapel Baptist Church. Rev. Ralph Reid will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 1:00 p.m. The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter, June Mings, 203 Leafy Way, Spartanburg.
