Brian Dale Baldwin, age 51, a resident of Creek Side Drive in Prestonsburg, Ky., passed away Thursday, August 22, 2013, at his home with his family bedside.
Mr. Baldwin was born February 21, 1962, in the Paintsville Hospital in Paintsville, Ky., the son of Joyce Baldwin and the late Gilbert Ray Baldwin.
Mr. Baldwin is a graduate of the Department of Criminal Justice Police Academy in Richmond, Kentucky. Mr. Baldwin was employed as the Police Chief of the City of Martin, Kentucky. He formally served both the City of Salyersville Police Department, Magoffin County Sheriffs Office, Salyersville Fire Department and Middle Fork Fire Department.
In passing he leaves behind his wife, Rita Perkins Baldwin, of Prestonsburg, Ky., sons, Elwood Perkins and wife Alex of Salyersville, Ky., Daniel Howard of Salyersville, Ky., Mason Daniels of Salyersville, Ky., Ethan Daniels of Prestonsburg, Kentucky, Kaleb Stephens of Prestonsburg, Ky., daughters, Hanna Stephens of Prestonsburg, Kentucky, Sarah Baldwin of Morehead, Ky., sister, Anita Sharkey of Morganville, Ky., brothers, Terry Baldwin of Paintsville, Ky., David Baldwin of Paintsville, Ky., Dennis Baldwin, of Salyersville, Ky., Paul Baldwin of Swamp Branch, Ky., and one grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, August 26, 2013, from the chapel of the Salyersville Funeral Home in Salyersville, Kentucky. Clergy Butch Whitaker will deliver comforting words on the day of services. Burial will follow in the Baldwin Family Cemetery in West Van Lear, Kentucky.
