Funeral services were at LaFayette First United Methodist Church on Monday, Nov. 9, at 3 p.m., with interment in LaFayette City Cemetery. The Rev. Michael Griggs officiated.
Surviving are his wife, Mildred Welch Reed of LaFayette; three daughters, Judy Richardson and Dian Thomas of LaFayette and Carol Brown of Roanoke; one sister, Gladys Williams of LaFayette; one brother, Charles Reed of Dadeville; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Mr. Reed was born in Fairfax on June 22, 1923. He was retired from West Point Pepperell's Fairview Mill. He was a World War II veteran and a Mason and a member of LaFayette First United Methodist Church. Memorial donations may be made to First United Methodist Church.
