Dunn, Matthew Jacob - PACIFIC BEACH -- "When it's good it's going to get bad and when it's bad it's going to get better." Those were the words of Matt Dunn of Willington, Connecticut, transplanted to Coronado, California after U.S. Navy boot camp and becoming a U.S. Navy SEAL. In active duty for 10 years with SEAL Teams 2 and 5, he resided in Coronado up until this past May, at which point he moved to Pacific Beach.

Matt lived his life on fire. He was born to ride motorcycles, jump out of airplanes and be the life of the party. His many friends will attest that he was brave, loyal and generous.

Despite his larger than life exterior, Matt was an extremely caring and sensitive person. He will be missed by many. Matt lived his life on the edge and died doing what he loved.

He is survived by his mother, Barbara Dunn, sister, Jennifer Rovetti, both of Willington, Connecticut, and by his three-legged wild jackrabbit, Jack.

A memorial service in honor of his life will be held on Saturday, August 24, at 5 p.m. at Tower23 Hotel in Pacific Beach.
