Age 84, passed away Monday, July 22, 2013 at Whitehall Convalescent Center. He was born February 23, 1929 in Stone, KY, the son of Wiley H. And Juanita (Mounts) Rhodes. Cecil was a member of Victorious Life Church and he played guitar there for many years. He worked for General Motors, Hydra-Matic plant for 21 years, retiring in 1995. Survivors include: his wife, Joan of Sturgis, MI; three daughters, Barbara Ann Kelly of OR, Myra Lynn Bnoit of LA and Starla Bowman of South Lyon; four grandchildren, Dale, Christopher, Edward and Justin; two sisters, Shelby (Robert) Alexander of Ypsilanti and Ina Rhodes of Ann Arbor; two brothers, James Rhodes and Blaine (JoAnn) Rhodes, both of Ypsilanti; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two wives and one brother. The funeral service will be 1:30 PM Thursday, July 25, 2013 at Stark Funeral Service with Pastor Gary Schooler officiating. Burial will follow in Arborcrest Memorial Park. Contributions in his memory may be made to St. Joseph Mercy Hospice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home where the family will receive friends 6-8 PM Wednesday.
